Short-eared Dog

(Atelocynus microtis) - a predatory mamm al species of the Canidae family, occurs in the Amazon and Orinoc o river basin [2] [4]. Latin Atelocynus microtis scientific name literally means a defective dog with short ears (Atelo-defectiv e cynus-dog micro-small, otis-ear). Only (in addition to forest, and partly a dog Dhole) species of dog, which remarkably adapted to life in the tropical undergrowth. Animal prefers the proximity of water, and its main food are fish and small mammals.
